OUR SERVICES
WHAT WE DO
We are a highly specialist organisation providing housing and related support services.
These services include:
- A semi-independent living service enabling them to gain independent living skills and be supported into training and work.
- 24 hour waking night supported accommodation.
- Staff who are qualified social workers or have a recognised health and social care qualification.
- A mentoring and counselling service
- Consulting and listening in every possible area to ensure they are heard and their wishes and feelings are considering throughout the assessment process.
- Regular reviews on individual progress
- Activity, safety, education and training plans devised for each young person.
- Individually tailored health plans devised for each person.
- Supervised contact sessions facilitated with updated reports provided.
- We employ the services of local contractors to provide a comprehensive repairs and maintenance service for all our properties with a planned maintenance and stock condition programme to ensure that they remain high quality homes.
- Working with local statutory and voluntary organisations we are able to help to shape strategy to meet the future needs of Philia Health and through partnership working to support the delivery of those strategies.
SERVICE USERS WE WORK WITH
We work and provide care for a wide range of young people with low through to critically high support and supervision needs.
We provide services for:
- Asylum seekers 18+
- Expectant mothers 18+
- Care leavers 18+
- Adults escaping abuse and exploitation 16+
- Young offenders
We are able to offer provisions for those who display:
- Difficult, risky and challenging behaviour
- Young people at risk of exploitation
- Sexualised behaviour
- Mental health issues
- Learning disabilities
- Drug and alcohol abuse
- Personality disorder
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
Our support package includes developing:
Independent Skills
Each individual will be helped to develop their skills to perform everyday tasks such as paying bills, cleaning, cooking, shopping, time management etc.
Life Skills
Relationship counselling, coping mechanisms, safe and wellbeing work, parenting skills, anger management, counselling, time management, money management and savings, career advice, social sills, and more – we have a team of professionals available to offer counselling and training in order to empower clients to lead a more fulfilling life.
School and Further Education Support
We have a list of all the schools and further education establishments within our locality and are able to liaise with them. We also offer full support to NEET service users.
Healthcare (GP, dentist, opticians, hospital appointments, Health Clinics)
We assist young people with registering at clinics, keeping appointments and accompanying them if required.
Legal Support
We assist in handling asylum claims or other issues. We also assist in finding appropriate legal representatives and help clients understand British law if they are not familiar with the country’s basic legalities.
Cultural and Community Organisations
We will refer people to local cultural/community organisations that provide support for a variety of cultural groups.
Social and Recreational Activities
We help people to build relationships and feel a sense of community within their surroundings. We will inform them of local cinemas, cafes/restaurants, and social clubs to promote independent living. We also assist people to access libraries, homework clubs and language clubs etc.
Accommodation and Allowances
We are able to administer weekly allowances and clothing allowances to people on agreement with the referring authority.
